What’s the best way to pack a gobox?

Smart, simple steps to pack your gobox safely and make the most of every inch.

General Packing & Organisation

  • Start by sorting and planning what you want to pack so you stay organised from the beginning.
  • Group similar items together to identify what needs extra protection or careful handling.
  • Pack as much as possible into sturdy boxes to avoid loose items and keep everything secure.
  • Label every box clearly so you can easily identify what’s inside and speed up unpacking.

Maximising Space in Your gobox

  • Stack boxes neatly to maximise space and prevent movement during transport.
  • Place heavy items at the bottom and lighter items on top to keep stacks stable.
  • Distribute weight evenly throughout the gobox for safe handling.
  • Make the most of the unit’s height by stacking sturdy items first, then adding lighter pieces above and around them, ensuring the weight stays balanced throughout.
  • Avoid leaning items against walls to maintain airflow and prevent pressure damage.

Using Packing Supplies

  • Use high‑quality packing supplies like boxes, tape, bubble wrap, straps, and blankets - available for collection or delivery with your gobox.
  • Use same‑sized moving boxes where possible to make stacking easier.
  • Fill empty space inside boxes with butcher’s paper or linen to avoid crushing.
  • Seal all cartons completely to keep dust out and strengthen the box.
  • Let us know ahead of time if you’d like supplies delivered so the driver can bring them on the day.

Preparing Appliances & Specific Items

  • Fully defrost and empty fridges and freezers before loading to avoid leaks and moisture damage.
  • Drain water from appliances like washing machines before storing.
  • Clean appliances thoroughly before storage.
  • Store light items inside appliances (with padding) to utilise extra space.
  • Keep fridge and freezer doors slightly ajar when storing to prevent mildew.

Protecting Furniture & Fragile Items

  • Disassemble furniture where possible to save space and make stacking easier.
  • Cover furniture with felt blankets or cloths for protection.
  • Stand mattresses and tabletops upright for best use of space.
  • Wrap mirrors and pictures in bubble wrap and store them upright - never flat.
  • Use smaller boxes for breakables and wrap each item individually.

Safety & Practical Considerations

  • Do not exceed the 3000kg weight limit - gobox cannot transport units above this weight.
  • Keep frequently needed items near the front so they’re easy to access.
  • Always stack safely and avoid building piles too high to prevent items from falling.
